Dogs have been part of human families since time immemorial. These two species have been living together for so long that people and dogs can generally empathize with the other’s moods and emotions. Author Sandi Hoffman writes about how a couple sensed the loneliness of their furry family member, and decided to add another set of paws to make things merrier.

Kenzie & The Pest is an illustrated story book that tells the story of Kenzie, a yellow dog who became lonely when his family moved into a new neighborhood. Kenzie stopped playing and ate less, so Dad and Mom decided to do something about it. When a new yellow puppy arrived, hilarity and shenanigans ensued.

This children’s book is meant as a “read-aloud” tool for adults to read to children, to teach them about small dogs, and dogs in general.  It is a hard cover, color illustrated book written by Fawn Frazer here at Conversation Concepts!  This book is about her and her Chihuahua.  The story is true, Fawn has translated the Chihuahua’s feelings to be able to share with everyone.

Nearly every page has a “Fact Box” with a little education about dogs in general.  These are meant to be shared with the child and talked about.  The hope is that anyone with a small dog, or anyone with a small child could share this book with the child and everyone can get along happier!  (And maybe Great Auntie’s Chihuahuas don’t have to spend the weekend in the bathroom with little Sally visits)
